PARA SKI

FEDERATION INTERNATIONAL SKI - ESA PARA SKI TEAM

In 2023, ONETEAM’s founder Robert Powers was named the Head Coach and Director of El Salvador’s Ski Team by the El Salvador Olympic Committee.. The El Salvador Ski Federation and Team is recognized by the International Ski Federation which is the designated governing body for both the Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Rob works directly under ESA Ski Federation President Mr. Salvador Salguero, Executive Vice-President El Salvador Olympic Committee and former Olympic Swimmer. While the focus of the program will be developing Para Nordic Athletes to start, the long range goals will be to address potential opportunities within the wide range of FIS, IOC/IPC recognized disciplines.

PARA CLIMBING

we love to ascend

When ONETEAMSV became the official club program for the El Salvador Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing in 2021, we saw a unique parallel in physical training necessary to be a strong prone paralyzed surfer, nordic sit ski racer and paralyzed competitive climbing.

We partnered with the Sports Institute of El Salvador’s Mountaineering and Climbing Federation as a Para Climbing Club of FMSE, which boasts an Olympic style climbing facility at the INDES Sports Training Center in San Salvador and has an amazing membership of dedicated professional instructors, competitive sport climbing coaches and athletes and outdoor mountaineer enthusiasts.

The training center is in the process of building a smaller climbing wall complex on site, thanks to support from Chris Klinke, President of Trango Climbing USA and the Powers and Colgan Families. . Our goal is to have the on site facility completed by fall 2024.

Like our Partners at the Council for Persons with Disabilities here in El Salvador, we believe in eliminating barriers and sport climbing is just one more avenue that is now wide open for our para community here locally and offers a unique cross-training opportunity for visiting athletes from around the world

TRAINING CENTER FACILITIES

International visitors make a donation - Scholarships available for wounded military

The Colgan Foundation Training Center ( CFTC ) incorporates two ocean side properties ( Rancho Verde and Casa Blanca) which have been combined to create one large-scale training facility. All surfaces and doorways are wheelchair friendly to include ocean access ramp, second story ramp access to “Chamonix” our open air multi-use area and 7 private bedrooms with baths and a large dinning and living room named “Athens” on the first floor of our two story multi-purpose building.

For our northern climate athletes we have air conditioning in all of the living spaces and all of our living spaces offer fans and ample fresh air circulation.

The center has two open air weight and workout areas and two pools which are used for therapy, tethered leash paddle training, board drills and water safety training… as well as just relaxing at the end of a long day of training.

All visitors must complete a basic water safety class before being taken out into the ocean.

For athletes that arrive with support staff we have 2 “Casa Para Verde and Casa Para Blanco” houses which feature private bedrooms, small living room and bathrooms. Additionally, we have a coach/staff lounge area which is separate from the athletes lounge area which can accommodate private team meetings, staff meetings etc…

All of our living spaces are solid wall construction with doors, windows, and finished floors-walls and ceilings - hammock life takes place on the second floor of the multi-use building and under the covered ocean cabana on the ‘Casa Blanca’ side of the property.

Video and video analyiss equipment is available in the mult-use building, strong wifi in all living spaces and if necessary typical printing and photocopy type needs can be met on site.

Our NGO’s Bank ( BancoAtlantida ) has a branch office 1km from the training center which can accommodate financial transactions, ATM withdrawals in USD.

MEALS

inclusive with your stay and flexible based on needs

We are a group of former Olympic and National Team athletes, Coaches and Medical professionals - not hotel operators. As such, we have hired local professionals to prepare the meals for our athletes, coaches and staff in residence.

Prior to your arrival, we’ll workout out any dietary needs you may have and then we’ll just make sure that training schedules and meal times sync up and everyone is taken care of.

CENTER CODE OF CONDUCT
